Fresh as a daisy for Global Design Project #GDP089

I have a darling set of notecards, that are made with the Delightful Daisy Suite, to share with you today.  I think that they are indeed delightful.

The Global Design Project is hosting a colour challenge this week and the given colour palette is Basic Black, Old Olive and Calypso Coral.  The Delightful Daisy designer series paper features two of these colours.  How could I ignore them for my cards?  They chose themselves really!

As so often happens, the project I'm sharing with you today isn't the one I started out to make!  I completed two pretty birthday cards, and then I spotted some little square cards on my desk and knew that I needed to make some little cards using daisies.  I'll save the first projects to share with you another day.

There is only a narrow strip of paper on the little white cards... think how many you could make from a whole packet of paper?  Too many probably, but they are the type of strips that are left over from bigger projects.  I'll remember this recipe for the future because I always save my offcuts!

The daisy is stamped onto a stitched square die cut - I love the finish of the stitched edge.  The flower is created using two stamps: one for the outline using full strength Calypso Coral ink, and another solid one to fill in the petals.  This second image is also stamped using Calypso Coral ink, but it is stamped onto scrap paper twice to reduce the intensity of the image on the card (my ink pad is very juicy, so you might get away with only stamping off once!).  The stamps are photopolymer which enables them to be manipulated a little as they are stuck onto the block.  This is how I've created a nicely curved stem.

The magical finishing touch is to add a layer of shimmer from the Wink of Stella glitter brush.  How did I ever manage without it?

The flowers on other two cards are created in exactly the same way and then added to a black stitched die cut square which is then mounted onto a colourful background, where the random splodges are actually the centres for the large daisy image.

I've wrapped these little beauties up with a simple belly band so that they all stay together until I'm ready to write them or gift them away.

Our twins are sitting exams at the moment so I am using plenty of these sized cards for daily notes of encouragement and good luck wishes.  There are three more weeks of exams... so I still need to write lots of notes!

Happy Crafting!
